Our Technology Law Group focuses on legal issues emerging from the growing
technology sector. We represent plaintiffs and defendants in all phases of
technology counseling and litigation, handling a wide variety of transactions
and disputes involving e-commerce and Internet regulation rights of privacy and
publicity, trade secrets, unfair competition, domain names, false advertising
claims, and other intangible property interests. We also have experience in
responding to hacker intrusion and other cybercrimes.
Our dispute practice includes trials, appeals and alternate dispute
resolution proceedings, as well as matters addressed in administrative
proceedings. The Group includes trial lawyers with experience handling complex
technology cases. Trials are not always the answer, and we employ strategies
that eliminate the need for litigation, successfully negotiating settlements,
license agreements and other technology business arrangements consistent with
the client's goals.
Our transactional experience includes the licensing, sale, acquisition, and
secured financing of complex technology property rights and emerging Internet
properties. We advise our clients in technology matters in a transactional
context, such as the formation of a joint venture, the division of property
rights or the acquisition or sale of an existing business. Drawing upon the
significant expertise of the firm’s Business Law Group we have represented
clients in numerous corporate finance and merger and acquisition transactions
that focus upon or involve technology matters.
