February 23, 2006 – Boston, MA – Preti Flaherty announced today that C.
Russel Hansen, Jr. has joined the firm’s Boston office, practicing with the
Business Law Practice Group. Russ brings over 30 years’ experience as in-house
and outside counsel to the firm. His principle practice areas include
securities, corporate governance, strategic partnering, mergers and acquisitions
and business transactions.
Russ has held positions as in-house counsel with two publicly traded
corporations -- BGS Systems, Inc., an international system software company and
PCD, Inc., an international connector/test and burn-in socket company. He began
his legal practice at Hale and Dorr (now Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr)
where he remained for 18 years, was a Senior Partner in its Corporate Department
and practiced in the fields of M&A/strategic partnering, high technology,
intellectual property, securities, venture capital, equipment leasing, general
corporate, international distribution and commercial law.
He is also Principal of The Board Place, a corporate governance and board
performance consultancy and a Managing Director of Board Leaders, LLC, a
business organization of directors. He previously served as President of the
National Association of Corporate Directors in Washington, D.C, and was the
Founder of The Governance Institute and Van Rensselaer Press in Waltham, MA.
Russ is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and serves as co-chairman of
the Corporate Law Committee of the Boston Bar Association. He is a graduate of
Harvard Law School and Harvard College.
