PORTLAND, Maine — July 9, 2008 – Preti Flaherty announced today that Patrick Strawbridge, an associate in the firm’s Litigation Group, will be leaving the law firm to begin a highly-competitive clerkship with Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. Strawbridge was chosen in October 2006 and begins the one-year clerkship this July. Federal Court clerks are selected for their exceptional credentials, making this an exciting endeavor for both Patrick and Preti Flaherty.

“We are proud to support Patrick on this achievement. He is a talented and extremely bright young attorney and we extend our ongoing support as he excels in his legal career,” said Jonathan Piper, Managing Partner of Preti Flaherty.

Patrick completed a one-year clerkship with the Honorable Howard Dana of the Supreme Judicial Court of Maine after law school. He then clerked for the Hon. Morris Sheppard Arnold of the U.S. Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. He graduated in the top of his class at Creighton University School of Law in 2004.

Patrick is admitted to practice in Maine and Connecticut. He is a native of Kittery, Maine and resides in North Yarmouth, Maine.
