June 18, 2008 (AUGUSTA, ME) – Preti Flaherty announced today that
Severin M. Beliveau, Co-Founder and Senior Partner of the firm, will attend a
Meeting of Democratic Governors with Senator Barack Obama. Governor Baldacci
will also be attending. Beliveau and Baldacci are the only Maine representatives
attending the June 19-20 meeting with Senator Obama in Chicago.
Beliveau serves as Co-Chair of the Finance Committee of the Maine Obama for
President Campaign.
“I am honored to represent Maine in supporting Senator Obama, and see this as
much more than a pro-Obama event. I believe this is one of many pivotal events
where Democratic leaders will come together to solidify change for our country.
On behalf of Preti Flaherty, I look forward to this unique opportunity for
sharing insights, yet challenging one another, with the common goal of
supporting Obama,” Beliveau said.
The Meeting of Democratic Governors will include a briefing with campaign
leadership, an open press roundtable discussion with Senator Obama, and a
fundraiser.
Beliveau is a former Maine senator and Maine representative. He served as
Chairman of the Democratic State Committee. During his last two years as
chairman, he was a member of the Executive Committee of the Democratic National
