8:00 – 9:15 a.m.
Preti Flaherty Portland Office
One City Center, Penthouse level
E-mail, instant messaging, Internet access, and sharing electronic files are
critical to operating a modern business. However, they can hinder your business
activities when employees waste time “cyber-slacking.” We will discuss
appropriate ways to monitor and enforce workplace e-privacy issues, such as
employees who transfer proprietary information, access inappropriate websites,
or send personal e-mail. We will also review strategies to address
employee activities that may put your business at risk, such as an employee
running an Internet business from their office workstation.
You will learn:
- The benefits of monitoring e-mail and Internet use within your workplace
- Which laws govern e-mail and Internet use at work
- The implications of cyber-liability and employee misuse of copyrighted
material
- Guidelines for developing e-mail and Internet use policies
- Employee rights relating to email and computer privacy
This event
is free to attend, but please RSVP by January 18 to reserve space. Please call
