Peter S. Carlisle is of-counsel to the firm and practices with the Business
Law Group in Portland.
He has a strong background in sports law and
represents several world-class athletes and Olympic hopefuls in a variety of
alternative sports, including snowboarding and skateboarding. He is listed in
Woodward/White's The Best Lawyers in America for his work in Sports
Law.
Prior to his association with Preti Flaherty, he was an attorney with
Perkins, Thompson, Hinckley & Keddy, P.A., and in private practice in
Portland.
Originally from the Portland area, Mr. Carlisle is a graduate of the
Northfield Mount Herman School in Massachusetts and a 1991 graduate of Bates
College, where he studied English and philosophy. He earned his law degree at
the University of Maine School of Law in 1994.
Mr. Carlisle is a member of the American Sports Lawyers Association and the
American Bar Association. He also is founder and president of the Maine
Amateur Athlete Support Foundation, a 501C(3) charitable organization that
provides financial support to world-class athletes.
